For a healthy, deliciously spiced pick-me-up drink in the morning, or a wonderful companion on a long weekend afternoon, make a warming, soothing Chai tea - Java, Peppermint, or our original blend. All three are included in our Chai Tea Set, for you to enjoy each flavor, or to gift to that someone you know who loves chai.
Each chai tea blend is ground into a coarse powder in order to lock in the essential oils of the spices, so the flavor is more potent when extracted for tea. But the powders are still fine enough for use as a baking ingredient in recipes such as chai cupcakes, chai muffins, and chai shortbread cookies.
To make a serving of Chai tea, simply mix one cup of milk, 1/2 cup of water, 1 or 1.5 teaspoons of sugar, and 1 or 1.5 teaspoons of our Chai Tea Blend in a small pot. Heat on low fire to a simmer, then turn fire off, cover the pot, and let steep for 5-10 minutes. Before serving, heat again on low fire to desired drinking temperature (if you have an electric milk frother, use it to foam up and thicken the tea). Finally strain out the spices while you pour the tea into mugs.
